Dear Friends and Members of the Greek Politics Specialist Group,

Before wishing you all a happy new year, I’m delighted to be sharing a Call for Papers for our international conference on the impact of EU structural funds on Greece – organised in
collaboration with the University of Peloponnese and the Hellenic University Association for European Studies. The conference will take place in September 2014 in Athens. The deadline for abstract submissions is 31 January. The Call is also available on our website:

Furthermore, the GPSG will bring together twenty exciting papers in five panels at the 64th PSA annual conference in Manchester (April 2014), including a panel in collaboration with the Italian Politics Specialist Group. If you are presenting at the conference, please note that registration is now opening and an early bird rate is available. More info is available here.

Finally, in 2014 the Greek Politics Specialist Group will be celebrating its 10th anniversary. The occasion will be marked appropriately, but at this point I’m pleased to say that we have a very exciting line-up of events and publications ahead of us – including two workshops in Brussels and in London, two major books and a special issue of Political Studies Review stemming from recent conferences, as well as a pamphlet on May’s EU and local elections in Greece.

May I take this opportunity to thank you, on behalf of the Executive Committee, for your continued support during the last decade. Be it through becoming a Full Member of the Group, attending one of our events, presenting a paper or participating in our competitions, you have helped the GPSG grow and make a substantive contribution to the study of Greek politics across the world.

On that note, I wish you all the very best for the New Year and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Roman
